If you are headed to Mississippi soon, you'll be glad to know that the state has some of the best ATV trails in the country. Here are our top picks that deserve to be on your itinerary.

Rattlesnake Bay ATV Trail

Located in Beaumont, the Rattlesnake Bay ATV Trail offers three separate loops for ATVs and dirt bikes. The smooth trails extend upto 31 miles into the forest. These trails are suitable for off-roading vehicles less than 50 inches wide. It's important to note that this area is used for military training exercises between May and September.

BMB Offroad

BMB offroad is a 715-acre offroad park that offers a wide range of trailers for riders of all capabilities. The terrain is a mixture of hills, swamps, mud bogs, water crossings and much more. Unlike other trails on this list, BMB Offroad is open during select weekends. You can also head to this park for Summer Jam, Mud Fest and other events.

Delta Multiple-Use Trails

If you are looking for wooden trails, Delta Multiple-Use Trails make an ideal choice. You can find 19 multiple-use trails that are 3/4 to 4 1/2 miles long. Make sure your vehicle isn't wider than 48 inches. Other than off-roading, you can spend time fishing, hiking, and boating.

Mudslangers Offroad Trails

The Mudslangers Offroad Trails has something for everyone, making it a perfect spot for families. You can find a well-maintained trail for all skill levels. Besides off-roading, you can hang out by the duck pond, relish hot dogs, and explore mudholes.

Burdens Creek ATV Park

Sprawling over 400-acres, the Burdens Creek ATV Park has thrilling wood trails and creek crossings. The park offers night riding every Saturday until midnight. You can also enjoy primitive camping for a small fee of $5 per day. Showers and a concession stand serving burgers and hot dogs are available.

Warfield Point Park ATV Trails

Catch a close view of the Mississippi River from the Warfield Point Park ATV Trails. Open all day of the week, this off-road park offers 8 miles of trails. You can also head over to the observation tower for a mesmerizing view of the park and river.

Mississippi National Forests

Did you know that Mississippi has over 2000 acres of national forests for recreational use? In addition to the few trails mentioned above, the national forest also has Bethel OVH Trail, which is 43 miles long and 50 inches wide. The Little Tiger ORV trail has 12-mile-long overlapping loop trails.

Apart from off-roading, you can also enjoy hiking, camping, fishing and other activities. Bonus Tip: There is a $10 fee per person, so remember to bring cash!

Who knew the land of Southern charm and slugburgers was also a fun destination for off-roading? It's time to plan a trip to Mississippi!
